How to use

Explore registered buildings and the information available about them. Approved shared cases update automatically.

1. Select a map point or list entry to read a building profile, sources and open questions. Use the filters to narrow the list.

2. Public buildings appear as red circles. Private buildings appear as smaller white circles with a black outline. Ownership is not an indication of current vacancy or suitability for conversion.

3. To add a building, select “Add a vacant property” and enter an address, or use “Add from map” to choose a location. The address and coordinates fill automatically when a match is available. Check the location, add dated evidence and submit for review.

4. Use Share information to share hopes for a selected building, add dated local knowledge or report another public or private building.

5. Submissions remain pending until an administrator reviews and approves them. Approved building reports become map cases. Approved hopes and local knowledge appear separately in the linked building profile.

Reading the evidence

A dated source describes a building at that time; it does not guarantee the current condition. A pin does not mean an entire estate is empty. Personal observations and unanswered questions are distinguished from documented facts.

Housing conversion requires professional investigation of ownership, permitted use, regulations, structure and services.

Map tiles and address lookup require an internet connection. Address suggestions may be approximate; you can enter or correct the address and coordinates manually.
